A website for Margerita, a Malta-based charity organisation dedicated to supporting individuals and families in need - designed to communicate warmth, trust, and purpose.

Charity organisations often struggle with a website that does justice to the real human impact of their work. The brief was to build something that felt personal and approachable without sacrificing the credibility needed to engage donors, volunteers, and the wider community.

Non-profit websites carry a unique set of demands. They need to speak to multiple audiences at once - people seeking help, potential donors, volunteers, and the general public - without feeling cluttered or unfocused. Too formal and it feels cold; too informal and it loses credibility.

Margerita also needed the site to be genuinely easy to maintain without a developer on hand. The content needed to be structured so that the team could update it themselves, and the design had to hold up with real-world photography rather than polished stock imagery.

The result is a clean, accessible website that puts people at the centre - clear messaging, an easy path to getting involved, and a visual language that reflects the care and community spirit at the heart of the organisation.

The site was built with a clear hierarchy of information - who Margerita are, what they do, who they help, and how to get involved. Each section was designed to answer a specific question a visitor might arrive with, so no one has to search hard to find what they need.

The visual direction was kept warm but structured - soft tones, generous spacing, and photography-led layouts that let the organisation's real work speak for itself. Every page was designed with mobile-first in mind, since a large portion of the audience would be accessing it on their phones.

Built using HTML and CSS with a focus on performance and accessibility, the site is lightweight, fast-loading, and straightforward to navigate for users of all ages - an important consideration given the breadth of Margerita's community.
